Accused of murder of Markelov and Baburova are suspected in other murders of anti-fascists

Yesterday Basmanny Court of Moscow sanctioned the arrest of both accused of the murder of lawyer Stanislav Markelov and journalist Anastasia Baburova.

29-year-old Nikita Tikhonov and 24-year-old Eugene Khasis are accused according to Art. 105 “murder of two or more persons”, Interfax reported.

Today has been announced that Nikita Tikhonov and Eugenia Khasis are suspected of involvement in the murder of the Azerbaijani student Ruslan Khalilov who appeared in the case called "Black Hawks". “Black Hawks", native from the Caucasus, attacked teenagers suspected of involvement in the nationalist groups.

According to Rosbalt, in October of this year participants of "Black Hawks" were sentenced by Dorogomilovsky court to a term of four to seven years in prison. However Khalilov was shot by unknown September 3, 2009 in Moscow.

Currently, a forensic medical examination is appointed for both accused. According to the source of Rosbalt in law machinery, Nikita Tikhonov is a member of the nationalist group “the United team-88 ". In addition, in 2006, he was a suspect in the murder of anti-fascist Alexander Riukhin, who was killed by the nationalists at the metro station "Domodedovo". The lawyer Stanislav Markelov has represented the family Riukhin interests and wanted all those responsible for the death of Riukhin be punished. According to investigators, it became one of the main reasons for the murder of Markelov.
